Rod Stacy-Marks was born in Cyprus in 1957 but spent most of his childhood in the UK. Descended from a mixture of Welsh itinerant barrel makers, missionaries and sundry seafarers Rod has travelled far and wide, living and working in different countries. Expelled from various schools and universities Rod was mostly self-taught until he attended a creative writing course at Bath Spa University in 2007. He has been a labourer, soldier and policeman. He is still a performance poet and sometimes a stand-up comedian but earns more at the time of writing as an operational manager in a call-centre. Married to a probation officer and with two sons, Rod now lives, works and performs in Bath, where he is a member of the Writers Group at the Rondo Theatre.
